Fishing Report
Bluefin
are in good numbers and have been caught throughout Storm Bay anywhere from friars to Cape Raoul. Fish being reported from 10-70kg. Those fishing the Peninsula are also finding the same.
Snapper
are tapering off a little however, reasonable numbers of smaller snapper are still being caught throughout Storm Bay over reefy bottom.
Sea trout
have gone well during the rougher weather this week - good numbers of smaller fish around 1kg are being caught in the lower reaches of the Derwent and Huon Rivers with a few bigger models also being caught. Small hardbody minnows and gulp fry soft plastics are proving effective. Many small fish are being landed as well … please consider releasing these fish.
Calamari
have been being caught on the east coast and few still being caught throughout the Channel area.
Australian Salmon
Good schools of Australian Salmon are being caught around Cremorne and Pigeon Holes area. Halco Outcast lures proving very effective.
Sand Flathead
have been caught recently in many spots. South Arm, Marion Bay, and mid east coast.
Flounder
have been speared on good nights recently, water clarity is brilliant and fish seem to be about.
