Fishing Report 13/12/2019

Saltwater:

Australian Salmon: have gone very quite throughout the Derwent river but good reports of large fish up the east coast. Persistance will pay off.

Sand flathead: Patchy due to bad weather and not being able to explore to far.

Tiger flathead : Some fish being caught east of Maria and further north towards Bicheno.

Snapper Rumours have been flooding in of fish been caught in Storm Bay.

Gummys: Peninsula, Schouten and Bruny have all been fishing well with fish up to 10kg being caught.

Calamari: going well in most areas, bad weather has made fish stocks move to deep water for shelter.

King fish: no sign yet as water temp is right down and needs to lift 3-4 degrees. Rumours of fish been seen up the north of the state suggest they cant be to far away.

Couta: have been caught in cooler water with rumours of some slightly bigger models being landed

Freshwater

Great lake: has continued to produce both good sized rainbows and browns and bait, lure and fly. Swan bay has been a popular location with fish being polaroided in shallow water.

Woods lake: has been fishing well with the recent world fly fishing chasmpionships highlighting how good some of the trout in this lake are. Spin and troll anglers doing well.
