Saltwater

Bluefin
are thick at the moment with good catches of fish in the 10-15kg bracket around the Hippolyte and mouth of Fortescue bay with the bigger models 30-40kg being caught around Pedra and Maatsuyker with rumours of fish up to 100kg also being caught down there.

Albacore
good sized albacore continue to be caught around the Hippolyte and out to the 100m line.

Kingfish
reports of kingfish being seen in the Derwent river are increasing daily with a fed good fish already being caught.

Mackerel
continue to be spread around everywhere, flasher rigs are proving very effective.

Bream
lots of smaller sized fish are spread through the Derwent system at the moment.

Crayfish
have been potting well around south east.

Salmon
have finally showed up with a few people reporting good catches lately.  They are still a bit patchy but definitely worth going for a look.

Couta
smaller Couta have invaded the east coast and have been terrorizing peoples flathead rigs and lures.

Freshwater

Fly Fishing Trout
has been a bit challenging lately with good reports of fish rising to caenids, mayflies and damsels but people finding them hard to fool.

The wind lanes on great lake have been going well with people getting good bags of rainbows on large foam beetle imitations.

Lure fishing trout
has been very productive with reports of good fish being caught in St Clair, Echo and Binnie.

A few flathead can be found inshore around the SE, especially on an outgoing tide.
