Fishing Report 24/5/2019

The stella weather on the weekend allowed The Fishing Connection crew to have a couple of pearler evening spin sessions on Great Lake where they took many browns from the shore after working at Liaweenee Trout Expo each day.

  • Bream continue to be an awesome sports fish in the Derwent river with a lot of fish being found above Bowen bridge as well as a few nice sea runners being caught as by catch.

  • Bigger Flathead have been caught fishing shallower than normal where the water is a bit warmer.

  • Albacore have made a re appearance on the shelf at Eaglehawk Neck with reasonable numbers of fish being caught.

  • Large Calamari to a couple of Kilos have been caught up and down the east coast.

  • Barrell SBT are still being caught in Peninsula waters as well as a good number of school sized fish (10-30kg).

  • Striped Trumpeter are biting from St Helens to Pedra Blanca - best bait local octopus.
