Fishing Report 27/6/2019

8 year old Patrick with his first solo fish, a Nice Mackerel!!!

Bluefin tuna - are being caught all along the coast of Tasmania from the southern tip all the way to St Helens. Hot spots have been Bicheno,St Helens, Schouten, Maria and Eaglehawk Neck with rumours of tuna even venturing as far as Devonport. Late afternoon bite times have been very productive this week.

Flounder - Frosty calm nights have seen some superb captures over the sandy tidal flats of these awesome table fish.

Sand Whiting - have been caught all around the Southern beaches with hot spots including Cremorne, Hope Beach and Lewisham

Mackerel - have been caught throughout the river and are readily taking silver slices

Squid - calamari continue to go well on the East Coast with fish ranging up to 50cm hoods and rumours of bigger.

Garfish - a great Winter option, try burley with a mixture of bread crumbs and tuna oil across shallow weedy flats.

Perch - have been going well on slightly deeper reefs. Smelly oily bait is proving to be the best.

Trout - Searunners continue to smash bait throughout the Derwent and Huon Rivers. The Highland lakes have had a huge cold spell the last week and fish have been very lethargic with the odd fish rising to midge.

Regular customer Russel had a great night on the flounder recently spearing this beauty
